Sam began his journey with a year long trip in South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, just aged 18, Sam knew he wanted to start a travel company, so set his sights on university to study Tourism Management.
Throughout university Sam continued his travels further into Asia as well as Central America, growing his already long list of travel connections and integrating himself into new destinations and cultures. From local tour operators, private guides, resorts to lodges, these connections were essential building blocks for Travel Platino.
Armed with travel experience, a diverse travel network and a great expertise of the tourism industry, Sam decided to move to South East Asia, living in Vietnam, and then venturing into South America, working remotely in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. During his time in South America, Sam learned to communicate well in Spanish so he could build a strong Latin network. This led to the first Travel Platino itinerary being tailored, Highlights of Argentina.

Phil’s extensive global explorations, spanning over 50 countries, have seamlessly merged with the youthful energy and insights of his son, Sam, and the vibrant perspective of Josh, in his mid-30s. Phil, having navigated diverse cultures and landscapes, brings a wealth of seasoned wisdom to our venture.
